As always, MYMP (Make Your Momma Proud) never ceases to amaze their hopeless romantic fans whenever they get the chance to sing and perform their timeless songs that could make you shiver down to the spine. The acoustic talented duo rocked the Strumms n Drumms bar last February 16, 2019.
They made the audience burst into tears as they sang the greatest breakup lists of all time. The crowd also fell in love as they brought back all the crazy feelings of being young and in love. It was uncontrollably a blend of emotions, insanely twirling like a rollercoaster ride. Fans couldn’t even control themselves but to go berserk while being serenaded by Jana Laraza, the lead vocal of the group, and Chin Alcantara, the guitarist of the band, and its original member.
Apparently, it wasn’t their first time to actually hold a show in Vancouver. As a matter of fact, AFM was even present to their first concert in Vancouver a few years back in Metrotown Hilton. So they are no longer amateur and inexperienced when it comes to seeing the Filipino-Canadian crowds.
MYMP did not fail their fans in Vancouver because as anticipated, they sang all their most requested songs like “Crazy for you, Kailan, Sa Kanya, Especially For You, I’ll never get over you getting over me, and Tell me where it hurts.” In the end, they sang, “Tonight gonna be a good night,” by the Black Eyed Peas while leaving their followers in wonder— aiming for more of their extraordinary performance.
Here at AFM, we say, it was one of the best post-Valentine experience you can ever have, and if you’ve been a fan of MYMP for the longest time, take every chance to see them perform live. It was lively, fun, soulful, and emotional. Truly, nothing’s gonna stop Chin and Jana in conquering the hearts of every Filipino in Vancity.
